No problem, I will do it, maybe today. (edit2 for link)
But as it's LeMaker source, I will write it in BPi forum, I can't do it otherwise.

I have seen a little hack to put a led (for ssd activity): http://www.tooms.dk/?page=http%3 ... sp%3FTOPIC_ID%3D280
Just for fun, I think I will do it !
What do you think about this ?
BC557
Base ------- 1.5k ---------- Pin 11
Collector ------------------ GND
Emitter --- LED --- 270R --- +5v

Edit: Thanks Steven, to have removed the capchkas

Nice, I followed along that tutorial and i'm highly impressed. I wish my old tablet had a way to wire in a SSD but sadly those only come with a single usb-b plug and I doubt wiring in a hub would do anything.

The SSD activity LED could be useful for people to see if data is being written/read and when. But I beleive pin 11 maxes out at 200milliamps... So there is a good chance it would cause damage long term. SSD's read and write faster and in a different way so it would be coo lto see how that works out anyways

Yeah ! Nice
Your pics are little, but I can see you're in progress to make the Sauron's tower !

Thanks, I think I'm better in programming than electronics... But you're probably right, have a led working during watching a movie could be boring. So a little swich could be installed
In fact, I think I would like a mix between tablet and laptop... I never had a tablet, it will be my first.

LMAO! That made me chuckle. Its actually the marker from deadspace but meh close enough

Im far better with hardware than programming. University java ruined that for me.

A switch is a good idea

Definitely a mix between the two based on the size of it.

Yes... As we say in France, "best is the ennemy of good".
So I will forget this hack, too dangerous for the ssd. Instead of this I will think about a HDMI output, to plug another screen. (VGA->HDMI adapter maybe)

Yesterday I managed to watch TV with my tablet ! lol
VLC app (1.1.4, because 1.1.6 don't work) and an rtp adress (the adress I used to use on my desktop) , and go !
1080p, no lag... This Orange is definitely a good board, and Android the best OS for the compatibility of the GPU. Very impressing !!
Kodi is also installed, but no tv with it, just mkv files. Don't matter!
I'm waiting the battery with impatience...

Thankfully most screen-streaming is cpu based since the image is already rendered and just needs to be encrypted and decrypted. The Orange pi is lacking in what I would want from a GPU, but makes up for it with CPU.

I wish It had an express-card reader. Because I could rig that to run along side a dedicated GPU. Jeez would that be nice...
I ordered my 7 inch screen on the 10th of February and still haven't gotten it lmao.  Im not holding my breath for parcels anymore.

LOL ! You want to adapt an external GPU to the Orange ?! You're worse as me !!
Be patient, your screen will arrive one of these days !
