Thanks, now I figured out what you mean. i removed few words.

What happens exactly when kodi freezes? Does it reboot? I tested with iptvsimple as I dont have real dvb dongle. Can you enable.debug logging and then send appropriate log file?

Testing is also something which also helps RPi use OpenMAX, I think, for playback and that doesn't rule out ALSA, but I didn't check that thorougly.

I will implement in following days, however, don't expect this to work with IR remote yet. I must extend the new driver.

The dvi solution didn't work for me. I can't tell if it is my dvi-d adapter and monitor or the dvi solution is the problem.

Can anyone else pull the latest version of openelec from jernej's repository and kindly report here if hdmi to dvi adapter works?

i can't get this to work too. don't what to do, no video-mode works except for the safe-mode 640x480...

There is a bug in the patch to lcdproc:
Address BL is 0x80 (i2c_line_BL=0x80) should be 0x08 (i2c_line_BL=0x08).

Not really. Intention of this patch is to provide configuration support for hd44780 driver. So if some default setting is not ok for you, you can create configuration file to change that.

I've been testing a distribution made by ua3nbwwhere the bus i2s works, I've been using and it works perfectly.
Can you add i2s drivers to OpenELEC?

It's only in comments and even there is represented as an example of alternative wiring. Do you have different experience?
