Cloud server (Dropbox clone)

Hello everybody

I would like to create a orange pi  based cloud server using a orange pi and a usb external hhd or a usb drive (or either sata hhd). The project will be documented with instructions and pictures for the community on how to make it. (I then would like to continue to make more projects using the orange pi and post them online so other can make them as well. I am currently in college majoring in coumputers)

Features

1-NO LIMIT on how much you can upload (depends on how big the the storege is)

2-All files and transfers are private because they aren’t stored on another company servers.

3-Easly upload and download files using a web interface

Mwah.... don't bother. Install a LAMP server: sudo apt-get install lamp-server^ (don't forget to add the '^' !!) on e.g. loboris' (L)ubuntu.Subsequently download / install owncloud from owncloud.org to /var/www/html.

The only thing that's to be done after that is change the owner of /var/www/html/owncloud and underlying files / directories to www-data and some minor config in the menu of owncloud.

Hocus pocus presto! Now you have time for other things...

Yea, as @makama80 said earlier - there's already a tool for that. If you insist on running your own cloud on OPi - join owncloud project and make it better on OPi.

There is that and the OPI is unfortunately the wrong HW platform to use as data server -> to low data throughput hence not suitable as NAS nor cloud server... ;)
