Thanks, I did find that and now I am able to get it to repeated boot.  I was able to get another of my cards to boot using the Ubuntu Server image.  On both of the cards that work with Ubuntu, neither worked with the other linux builds.
Just for the record, the command he listed gave an error for me, but running

  1. sudo apt-get purge alsa-utils
Copy code

worked for me.

Good luck all.  Now to try and get the 2G working.

Forget my previous message... I just have used UnetBootin for prepare the SD Card and he add a specific bootloader to SD Card. it's an error from my sd card preparation.

Read in last documentation (0.9.5) that IOT 2G work only with 8G Class 10 SD Card... waiting to receive this type of SD

I have one of my 2G-IOT working with a Lexar 8G Class 10 card, manually resized to full capacity usi ...

As an extra reference:

I have been working with several 2G-IOT machines, and all them have differen issues.  Have been complicated to find some correlation trying to resolve the booting process, but this is what I know.

1) 16 GB class 10 SD cards don't work ( I used three brand new Ultra SD SanDisk class 10 cards ... all them fail, and a Radio Shack class 10 also fail ).  No matter what OS image you use.
2) 4 GB class 4 SD card from SanDisk also fail.
3) 8 GB Lexar class 10 seens to work ... three different cards, two work and one fail ... although the failing could be damaged.

Then maybe the problem is not the "class 10" but the size.

Also, I boot from an Armbian image and although it do something, it seems that some internal library is damaged; so, it is possible that some provided images have issues independently of any incompatibility with the particular card type.

Somebody else could sumarize experiences to see if we can decode this mistery?
