I'm trying to leave the card at home and to manage it from other places far away. I've tried with strigtvcnserver, vino etc without suitable results. any idea?

The best way to remotely access the Linux Desktop, IMHO, is x2go server.
Of course, on your router, you must route (port forwarding) external port (22) to the local IP of your OPI to access it over Internet.

If you take the card with you....

Using a UART cable ($9.99 @ Adafruit, $1.50 @ AliExpress) will get you a serial terminal session/Console session. The cable uses the 3 pins next to the power supply.

Another option is to plug in a WiFi dongle and set up an Access Point using the create_ap script on the download page. That page will guide you to instructions to make the AP settings permanent. In that case you would no longer need the UART cable.
If you don’t intend to run the AP on every boot, you can connect your UART cable, connect and execute the create_ap script.

In either case, after you're running an AP, you can start up a vnc session and connect to your desktop.
