Cannot output HDMI to Acer Z35 Monitor

Hey all,

My orange pi outputs 1080p perfectly well to my test monitor, my sony TV but not my main Acer Z35 monitor. This is a problem as my Z35 is my main and best monitor which I would like to use. I have tried the 1080p 60hz hdmi profile for my debian install.

Any suggestions?

If you type "screen resolution" to our documentation (docs.armbian.com) you will get this:

If you have some odd monitor which can break auto detection, set it manually. Don't try to set your size, since it's not supported by the driver. I checked that.

I think in your case it is a monitor issue as the Z35 is a 21:9 and that would not be a standard output (2560x1080) as 1080p or i is 1920x1080
I read somewhere in the armbian wiki that the resolution can be adjusted in the script.bin, but I do not remember to see 2560x1080.

BTW what PI do you use?

Unfortunately not this easy since there is no support for this screen resolution in any of the kernel AFAIK. On legacy kernel is possible to add, but requires calculating & video driver patching ... Check this patch as example:

3D (open gles) works on all legacy kernels desktop builds. H3, A10 and A20 chips. ... unless it's broken somehow.

But guys... Even though the monitor supports this high res doesn't mean it cannot display 1080p. The Orange Pi should still push 1080p to the monitor with the config script I chose... It's an orange pi plus 2.
