Hi,

Please can anyone who has the RetrOrangePi 2.5 image upload it to mega or google drive?
If you do, please state also for what OPI the image is ;)

Thanks in advance
Tina

Found an orange pi lite image here:
http://my-files.ru/Save/qjm836/R ... gepilite.img.tar.gz
It seems to work on my OPI PC ;)

Edit:
had to find my old PS2 clone controler USB for testing:
- this OPI Lite image works fine the OPI PC
- controler recognized and works fine after assigning the funktions during 1. boot
- Kodi works fine
- Rii R8 (wireless keyboard/touchpad) works out of the box too.
- flashing took awfull long with etcher (+2h), I used a Hama USB3 to sdcard adapter in a USB2 port and got 0.67MB for writing and 0.78MB for verrifing the image. But it works, just be patient. Pheonix does not work with this image.

Edit2:
- ethernet does not work out of the box

hope that helps ppl who want to use that for x-mas ;)
I cannot test on other OPI's (I have only the OPI PC)

Hello. I try to run 3.0 version on OrangePi Plus 2E, but it seems to not work correctly. After i skip joystick configuration no menu is shown, only Armbian terminal screen. I can go to Armbian desktop with strartx, but there is no way to run OpenElec, or go to any of emulations. Wicd is not working also in Armbian. I can configure wifi from interfaces, but why don't you use some newer version of Armbian with network manager, which work with no problems? Kodi in Armbian start only once, then brakes with some error (forgot to note). This is what i found so far. I use rufus and win32diskimager to write image to sd card. My hardware is ok, i guess.
Is there any other RetrOrangePi image i can download for Opi2E? Any mirror for 2.5 version or some newer bugfixed? I would be very appresiate.

I think the makers of RetrOrangePI did make this kinda mandatory. You have to have a gamepad inorder to configure it at the 1. start. There might be a way to bypass this, but you have to ask that in the RetrOrangePI pages: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1131759626884432/ or have a look in their wiki: http://orange314.com/RetrOrangePi

... but there is no way to run OpenElec ...

If you want to run Kodi or openELEC and do not need the game emulators you better look here for the images for your OPI:

Thank you for your answer. I already figure it out about joystick. I don't have gamepad right now, so i attach 2 keyboards+touch. One i configure as gamepad and with other i can navigate through Armbian and OpenELEC, while in retrorangepi menu i use the first as gamepad to navigate. And wifi working ok if i configure it in retrorangepi menu, not in Armbian and OpenELEC separately. I think i foung why Kodi in Armbian stopped working after first use. I change resolution from 720p to 1080p and as far as i remember the error was something about resolution. The problem now is with OpenELEC. There is a lot of tearing there in every video file, make it unusable. I think there is something with 2Gb RAM of OpiPCPlus2E and bug with memory adressing for VPU. Maybe jernej is alredy fix it and if i upgrade OpenELEC will be fixed too. The problem is, after first switch to OpenELEC and back, RetrOrangePI freeze and is unbootable now. So i have to write new image these days and try again.
About game emulation - i like it too and maybe will use it soon, but my main goal for now is Armbian/OpenELEC switching. It's very comfortably and i can't do this myself.

Lakka OS is alot faster then using emulators on armbian. It is a pure gaming os, nothing more. I use it on my intel pc and get the pure gaming performance, better then the real hardware because the real hardware has noisy sound.
