It's soft or hard limitation?
May be exists another driver?!
But 480 MBit it is 2 times more than  ...

The same limitation exists on other units, I believe it is a hard limitation as it runs along the USB 2 bus which has a theoretical max of 480 Mbit

That Minnow does look cool but they are way overpriced.

OK, PEOPLE DO NOT CONNECT CSI CAMERAS TO ORANGE PI 2 BOARD BECAUSE INVERTED PINOUTS!!!

(many thanks to @mikexx for finding this)

You can use CSI camera if you connect ribbon tape extender and inverse pinouts (connect it in other direction).
You do not need any tricks with gpio-sunxi, everything is controlled by vfe_sunxi modules. TWI2 port in script.bin has to be set to not used !!!

We have succeded in connecting OV5640 - camera comunicates with board

@loboris - we have some issues with vfe_v4l2 driver, preventing us from getting some pictutes or video from camera.  We would be grateful if you could help us with this. We can send you our adapter to inverse pinouts - It would be faster(if you live in europe) than getting it from aliexpress. Of course you can build such adapter yourself . Please kindly let me know by PM.

Thanks for all the work you've done on this, loboris.

Could I ask that you also provide a defconfig for the kernel(s) you're building? (as in "make savedefconfig").

I am looking at what needs to be done to forward port the sunxi drivers from the 3.4 kernel (and 2011.9 uboot) sources to mainline. It would really help if I could see what configuration produces a working kernel for the 3.4 allwinner sources.

Dear Loboris,

May you give some guide for me to get AP mode to work in OPI?
I tried many tutorials online but still failed.

root@OrangePI:/tmp# /usr/sbin/hostapd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
drv->ifindex=7
l2_sock_recv==l2_sock_xmit=0x0x64638
ioctl[SIOCSIWMODE]: Invalid argument
Could not set interface to mode(3)!
Could not set interface to master mode!
rtl871xdrv driver initialization failed.

Cheers

Dear Loboris:

Could you tell me how to compile the RTL8192cu RTP8188cu's driver under the ubuntu mate system? I use the OPI PC board, and the other question is : under  the new image of mate, the only one usb host can use,how to modify it?

Thanks for all the work you've done on this, loboris.

Could I ask that you also provide a defconfig ...

@camh I am working (slowly!) on the mainline kernel.
For the lichee kernel, you may get my ..config from my site http://moinejf.free.fr/opi2/.
For the mainline kernel, I applied Jens Kuske's patch about the H3, and I got a running kernel (4.2-rc8) with MMC and UART. There is only one active CPU running about 200MHz. Jens told me that PSCI support should be added in the u-boot for the 4 CPUs to be active.
Actually, I am porting the rtl8189es driver (wifi - does not work yet) and my next step is to have HDMI video starting from my Cubox DRM driver and/or from a DRM driver from the linux-sunxi team.
As told in the linux-sunxi pages, there is a lot of jobs to do: my priorities are USB (hard disk), thermal sensors, CPU frequency and HDMI sound. I will not work on the drivers I don't need as ethernet, eMMC, analog output (jack audio and video), GPIO, camera...
As soon as the 4.3-rc1 will be out, I will upload my current patches in my site.
