Hi all
OrangePi3 is fast enough to be used as a desktop and office computer. You can even do programming with an IDE and compilation with java, kotlin, cordova, ionic ...
What it lacks is more RAM, although I thank you that it now has 2GB.
I asking you to develop another version of OrangePi3 with H6 CPU but without PCIE (which at the moment can not work) and in your link one or two so-dimm sockets for the RAM expansion.
So you can create an OrangePi3LitePlus, with for example only 512MB of ram, without MMC, without PCIE, without IR-Receiver, without Microphone, but with 2 so-dimm sockets, so you can install up to 16GB of Ram and 2 extra ports USB3 on the other side of the 4 USB3 that are already present.
With these modifications and for example 8GB of Ram on so-dimm module, a usb3 ssd hard disk, we can builds a mini computer that can really be used for office, internet browsing, programming and compilation of programs like java,C, pyton....
I think that a hypothetical OrangePi3LitePlus could cost less than the current OrangePi3, but it would sell very well, because it is made for minicomputers at home and very very low consumption.
It is not said that the company OrangePi has to build only demo-boards.
regards
MaX
