Hi guys, some week ago i received my OrangePi 3, i have a problem. I don't have a full HD monitor when i try to boot Debian downloaded from OrangePi site i have black screen, if i boot Ubuntu (xfce) the system start but i can't see border of my desktop (bottom bar etc...) like if there is outside the view. The question is: there is an official way to change screen resolution? I have a usb ttl converter, at boot i've try to set correct resolution at the boot environment but no success.
Thanks

When you boot into Ubuntu(xfce) does the monitor EDID get fetched by X? Look in the Xorg.0.log which might be in one of these:

  • $HOME/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.0.log
  • /var/log/Xorg.0.log

You might need to create an xorg.conf file to set the display resolution/dimensions.

Ok there's more to this. I haven't tried to get a display working yet as I am still trying to boot from an sdcard. So I will have to eventually so ...

Here's a very good link about this:
