This thread is for 8.1 source code compilation and stablisation.

Steps done till now.
1. Source Compiled on Ubuntu 16.04 PC.
In source directory
a.$source build/envsetup.sh
b.$lunch full_k37mv1_bsp-eng
c. make -j4

For 8GB RAM system:
1. ~/.jack-server/config.properties
jack.server.max-service.by-mem=1\=2147483648
jack.server.max-service=4
Also
$export ANDROID_JACK_VM_ARGS="-Xmx4g -Dfile.encoding=UTF-8 -XX:+TieredCompilation"
Source : /code/prebuilts/sdk/tools/README-jack-server.md

For /code/frameworks/base/data/sounds/F1_MissedCall.ogg error save as from

Hi @birender.s, did you manage to compile and flash the 8.1 Android image?
The one provided on MEGA has problems with the data connectivity and I am curious if building from sources fixes it.

Thank you

I'm also quite interested as I'm having the same issue as @calinp

Hello everyone,

I'm an android developer, but new to compiling AOSP and actually find myself lost while trying to do so. Is there any link to an installable image of Android 6 / 8 for the 4G-IOT that we can flash on to an sd card?

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks and regards,

It's disappointing to know that the OrangePi forum is not as active as other SBCs in the market. Was really hoping that my testing with the 4G-IOT would be successful. Am currently using Pine and Odroid boards. Would love to switch to OrangePi if we get get slightly better support from the admins here.

Hope to receive a response for my query above.

Best,

Raunaq Singh

The manual with instructions on compiling the AOSP image is not coherent at all. Ubuntu versions are interchanged making it extremely confusing. Bad decision getting this board. Forum seems to be asleep as well.
