Our main goal is to create easy assemble home NAS server. The project is based on Debian/Linux  distro with addition of OpenMediaVault softwere. Project provide a ready to install image of OS and stereolithography file for 3D printers. We did similar project with other boards, here simplenas.pl

Nice! I like that self printed(??) orange case. Would be nice to see something for the orange pi too. Dobra robota!

I think that I OrangePi Plus will be better than Banana Pi. I do not know what about performance SATA port. But processing power wins.

SATA performans over SAMBA is 17 mb write and 27 read.
Eraz, i think to port BanaNAS to OPi Plus need only compile kernel.
Could you do it?
In stock kernel NFS server daemon is off. UPD: also ACL and Xattr kernel support is off.
I tried to compile, but not succesful.

I'm developing a system for simpleNAS. I can prepare an adequate system. But first we need to get orange pi plus ;)
I am afraid that in fact sata controller is connected via USB.

Unfortunaly SATA over USB(((
But for some expirience like music streaming and video playback via NFS it enough, also for Blu-Ray.
Please try to compile kernel with NFSD, ACL, Xattr.
I will test it.
Did you asked Zhao Steven to send you OPi plus board for development?
