Hi there!
I'm bumping this up (one year later ).
Is there any progress on it? I've got a OrangePi zero H2 (with Raspbian_server_For_zero_H2+_V0_1 ) and have a lot of trouble making it work with midi…
I tried to add all sound related and available modules with:

  1. insmod /lib/modules/3.4.39/snd-usbmidi-lib.ko
  2. insmod /lib/modules/3.4.39/snd-hwdep.ko
  3. insmod /lib/modules/3.4.39/sndspdif.ko
  4. insmod /lib/modules/3.4.39/snd-usb-audio.ko
Copy code

But it seems that one is still missing:  snd_seq which is required by ALSA
  1. root@OrangePI:~# aconnect -i
  2. > ALSA lib seq_hw.c:457:(snd_seq_hw_open) open /dev/snd/seq failed: No such file or directory
  3. > can't open sequencer
Copy code

Should I recompile a kernel with modules correctly loaded? Is there any plans on using a more recent kernel than 3.4.39?

Thank's a lot for this awesome little board!

Community support with 3.4.113 is way better:
https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-zero/

build tools: (if MIDI is not already there)
https://github.com/armbian/build

Full working modern (NEXT) kernel 4.13.x is 1-2 months away.
