HI!

First post - first problem: My Armbian (the Jessie desktop version from armbian.com) boots fine, and does its work. But it can not connect to the wifi because of a software bug in wicd (the network connection thingi). I tried the right password and got a "bad password" error. Searching the internet i found out this is a common error in linux/wicd. But all the methods working around this error didn't work. The network manager is not installed, i deleted config files and finally tried an open network. Even in an open network (with fixed ip given to the orangepi and the router) no connection is possible. If the ip is not fixed no ip can be given to the orangepi.
The bad thing: running sudo apt-get update would (as far as i read) fix the problem - but i can't connect the wifi and its the only thing that can connect to (no lan for the orangepi lite)....

Can anyone help me or do i have to set up another linux (if yes please tell me which one dosn't have this stupid bug)??

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the fast answer!

"dhclient wlan0 - If no output is reported there are no errors. You should now be up and running."
This command took some seconds and ended without errors like the others. They all had sudo rights. But i still can not ping my router (which has 100% signal strength): "connect: Network is unreachable" is the answer for the ping command

Okey, i ran "sudo wicd-gtk" and now its different. I now get errors about the daemon (which seem to run, but can't connect) and the D-Bus interface (can't connect to.
There are more people dealing with this issue: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=577141#p577141
When starting the d-bus with "sudo dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session" and then trying to start wicd again does not work either....

Edit: by the way: the pacman-stuff was not possible because pacman seem not to be installed

Now i hate that orangepi lite board - you can not connect to normal wire-lan to update stuff (what i originally wanted to do).

wicd has one problem and here is a solution:
http://forum.armbian.com/index.p ... i-networks/?p=14746

In next build we are replacing WICD with NetworkManager  ... still under testing.

On wicd -> preferences->advanced settings->driver->none (the second one, the last in the list). Reboot.

Thanks!! This one worked!
First i removed the old image to prevent whatever worse could happen by my previous tries. Then i switched the driver to nl80211, rebooted and it works like charm, even with wicd.

Hello,

I have the same problem wicd ( bad password) for several days , but the above solutions work me .

Achievement not connect to wicd or in any other way . The connection is WPA2 , I OPI PC Plus and ARMbian , and these are the things I've tried without success :

- Change the driver in advanced options wicd ( with drive none , nl80211 and wext )
- I used scripts to connect to end unsuccessfully
- I've tried from wpa_supplicant unsuccessfully terminal (using different parameter drives )
- Also unsuccessfully iwconfig
-Also 've Tried running as root all the above included wicd -gtk

Does anyone know any alternative? I do not care to connect from a script, or another customer , anything can help

first of all thank you very much

Cyber risk assessment reports play a pivotal role in strengthening an organization's cybersecurity defenses. The recommendations and risk prioritization in this report are spot-on. It's a great reminder that cybersecurity isn't just 27001 accredited concern but a business-critical issue that should be on every executive's radar.
