What seems to be the problem with deinterlacing? Tearing? That is solvable, I just focused entirely on mainline kernel due to some extremely annoying issues. If you want to implement this, I can help here.

About channel switching issues: I don't use VNSI. The only PVR plugin I tested was IPTVSimple and it's switching problems were solved.

Please be aware that I don't have much additional HW, no DVB dongles or TV with analog input, so I can't test/develop those features.

I have just received cheap WiFi dongle based on RTL8188 chip. I noticed that most recent image doesn't have drivers for this chip. Earlier were working ok. Could you please include this driver in next releases?

I think I've stumbled onto something. I've been binging on series lately and noticed the Audio playback in HD is just wrong (only a buzz), While SD Audio, remains it's normal clear clarity. At least in the series I've been watching, may be in others as well.

@jernej
Am not pretty sure but at 99% it seems you can use the v3.10.101 Mainline Linux kernel with your Openelec mainline effort with H264/5 hw decoding

Where did you find 3.10.101 kernel for H3? Links you provided are for libvdpau-sunxi, with which I already experimented but I never managed to get it working.

I'm done developing with old kernel releases. Latest published image will have to do for quiet some time.

Another reason why I hate Allwinner's kernel. Sorry, it isn't worth looking into now that mainline kernel is progressing so nicely.

I understand your issues there, I was hoping it was limited to just what I found in HD related to the series I've been bindging on. But, of course it's not, The audio descrepensay is also appearing in HD of many live TV channels as well. Kind of defeats the purpose of trying to use OrangePi to watch HD programming. Here's a kick in the pants, the closer I get to the end or the series, the fewer SD channels are available, I hope I don't run out of logs for the fire, before I burn through the series. I'm sure they'll be some working through on this, show up sooner than later.

Just made my RTL8188EUS (? that is how it is advertised) working, creating pull request.
