What kind of videos do you watch? If you watch interlaced videos, this is known problem.

I decide ...

CedarX is very efficient but image is way too sharp , in my opinion of course

No, no interlaced videos. Just regular progressive H.264 and HEVC, both have the same issue.

In the long run using the open-source stuff is probably the right thing to do, especially if/when mainline-kernel becomes properly-useable on Orange Pis, and I would help, but I, quite frankly, wouldn't know what to do and I'd be about as useful as a fish with a bicycle. I can offer bad humour and pictures of ponies in various sort of explicit costumes and poses, though, if those work as motivational help for you?

I have the same issue on OPi PC. no interlaced videos, H.264 and HEVC videos. Prebuildimage 2016/02/24 is worse than prebuild 2016/02/21 I thing. On my RPi2, openelec 6.0.1 no jittering, on H.264 of course.

...Thanx for great work jernej...

Can someone try to test if any of these two commits caused issue:
https://github.com/jernejsk/Open ... 1165a63532b0d97c8e1
https://github.com/jernejsk/Open ... f553a0fd6592ad381db

However, I won't actively work on any issue related to CedarX.

What do you exactly mean with "kickstart"?

i don't know why, but my mt7601 won't connect to my primary-wifi, so i've used my edimax wifi dongle to connect (as usual) to my primary-wifi and the mt7601 to connect to my secondary-wifi. after that, i removed the edimax and rebooted while the mt7601 was still connected to my secondary-wifi. after reboot, i've deleted the secondary-wifi informations and this time i was able to connect to my primary-wifi.

it's weired, i know! but several reboot procedures didn't work for me. now, everything works as it should. i'm glad to have a led-less wifi dongle connected to my OPiPC located in my bedroom ;-)
i'm sorry, that i didn't try to check the dmesg log to provide further informations.

jernej could you please look at this video sample: http://distribution.bbb3d.render ... 0p_30fps_normal.mp4
It is 4k sample in h264 codec, seems to be regular but plays really awful. It seems to use 100% of one core, other 3 are not loaded.
There are 4k samples in more demanding h265 codec which play perfectly smooth with load <20% of all cores.

Ok, I will save it for later inspection. However, now I'm in code reorganizing mode, so this will have to wait. I'm not sure if such things can be easily fixed. That's why I'm trying to adapt open source cedrus library (vdpau branch on my github) instead. Even before that, HW rendering must be improved...

jernej, it is even worse with OpenELEC
I did deeper tests. I downloaded all h265 stuff from elecard.com
Only raw streams with .265 extension play well using OpenELEC Kodi. The rest - tragedy. But I tested all files in Android. All "wrong" files play perfectly smooth using MXPlayer! But interesting - *.265 play awful slow. So it means we have very powerful hw but sw is very buggy and you cannot play everything well using one OS
Later I switched to Orange Pi One. OpenELEC even doesn't want to start these *.265 files. Rest (4K *.ts) play ok. It seems to be lack of memory related because it is the only hw defference between One and PC. But there shouldn't be issue with the memory because 4K ts files play well, same like on PC. So there must be a bug with memory allocation for *.265 files.
Later, when you are done with your current stuff, I'd suggest to download all files from elecard.com - they should play on our hw perfectly. Also mentioned above h264 stream which seems to be in h264/High profile should play ok. It played almost ok in Kodi under Android.
