OK, I overlooked this ... crazy overclocking.

But it makes some sense from a manufacturer's point of view.

The H3's single-threaded performance seems to be lower compared to A20 when clocked identically (but by following the mainlining H3 discussions in linux-sunxi I believe this might be related to undocumented clock source behaviour) and the H3 has no SATA. What to do if you try to sell an 'Orange Pi Plus' that lacks features and capabilities compared to its predecessor the A20 based Orange Pi?

• You have to insanely overclock the SoC to produce benchmarks where single-threaded performance looks superiour compared to the predecessor
• You put a slow USB-to-SATA bridge on the PCB and tell customers 'supports SATA' (same now with Banana Pi M3, they chose even the same crappy GL830 bridge)
• You again slow things down since the 'Plus' model needs twice as much USB ports: by using an internal USB hub all 4 ports share one single connection to the SoC therefore USB throughput is cut in half compared to the predecessor
  

Stories only marketing and 'product development' can tell ;)

When will be the Orange PI Plus 2 available again? Now it's out of stock if i click on the "point me to buy this button". I don't want to pay $61 for it if i'm able to get it for $49

I'm really exited for the orange pi 3. Hopefully it's going to be a good alternative for the PINE A64. Any news on the orange pi 3?

I moved on. No more Orange Pi for me. 20 hours of extra work to save 20€ is not a good trade off.

Customers like to be treated with respect. Selling boards and providing ZERO support ( OPI ONE ) borders on fraud.

Item quality is very poor, plastic it's too thin and not well cutted, broken in less than 10 minutes. Power button is not usable by hand, you need a needle or similar, no holes for wi-fi antenna and for cam module (cam point to the plastic). No holes for air flow.

Корпус никак не скрепляется, пришлось клеить клеем. Теперь плату из него не вытащить. The body can not fastened, it had to glue adhesive. Now the cost of it does not pull out.

El envío perfecto, tardó aproximadamente un mes y sin ningún problema. Sin embargo, después de tres semanas de muy poco uso (solamente probar tres distribuciones Android en días contados) La Orange Pi, ha dejado de funcionar, no enciende, y si lo hace (pulsando el botón de power al insertar la alimentación) se ilumina el led rojo pero no hay señal de ningún tipo. Se lo he indicado al vendedor, y no se ha dignado a contestar

The quotes are just from the seller's Aliexpress page. I personally have not received the ordered boards yet, but the seller (zhao_steven) does not answer questions,
makes false claims ( OPI is NOT compatible with Raspberry PI / OPI ONE differs from OPI PC and needs different ressources / Major overheating problems due to overclocking/overvolting)
and does not provide any support. I would call this fraud.

The price of OPI is compatible with it support. It's a TRUE China product
So, as for me, i'm not afraid of poor support, overheating etc. But, I can't call this a true fraud, because we all know what we are buying.
The community is increasing every day and now we have working solutions for many things we want.

If you want to work it out of the box, you need to pay over 100$. If you need some play with it, you have spend less than 50$ (it's our case). So it's not a froud
Here in Russia, we have proverb: "The only free cheese is in the mousetrap".
