Audio pass through (AC3, DTS-HD, ...)

Sorry, not realy. Before it was lack of equipment, now it is lack of equipmnet and interest in the old kernel. I'm spending more time on mainline u-boot and kernel, which is the only thing with bright future. Once proper driver is developed for mainline, passthrough will come automagically.

Of course there is hope, but it will be pretty different image.

Regarding my experiments - I think I missed the point completely at that time, so it would be better to start from scratch. You might try to play with amixer at the beginning. HDMI audio has interesting parameter, which should in theory allow to change to passthrogh. Furthermore, you should check kernel sources:

You could also use i.mx6 technical manual as HDMI reference. They use same controller, but unfortunatelly with different audio transport. You can read more about HDMI controller here:

Hello,
I try openelec and libreelec and pass through ac3 and dts to my receiver don't work... Sound out pcm 2ch!

my setup OPIPC -> LG TV -> AC3/DTS RECEIVER VIA SPDIF FROM TV

Is it still not possible to output multichannel audio via hdmi? I can join the testing, if there is anything to test.
I have OPi One and OPi Plus 2.
