Hi Jernej I have the tools but when i mount the latest images the .fex files already sit within the mounted drive. However if i try to edit the file using leafpad or nano through terminal I just see a blank file.

Can you let me know where i am going wrong.

Ah, ok. Don't let file extension to confuse you. opione.fex is binary file and you must first "decompile" it with bin2fex. Usual "bin" extension is not very good choice when you are using generic build system.

Jernej,

OK thanks now I understand. Will make that amendment. I assume that I then re-compile with fex2bin but change the extension back to .fex once this is complete.

Thanks

Yeah, file must be "opione.fex" or else system won't boot.

It seems that driver needs to be recompiled to support RTL8189FTV. Please wait until I publish test images.

Thanks jernej. What do you think the timeframe for this might be? I am available to test as soon as available.

I just tried to build those drivers but unfortunatelly, some files are missing.

Can someone help me with searching for RTL8188F drivers? Should be compatible...

EDIT: Found something promising: https://github.com/geekboxzone/m ... chip_wlan/rtl8189fs

Here is the first version of the driver:
https://mega.nz/#!wNgiCIqL!yLCyQ ... h5FRLzCi8ZoSBQgdpDI

First, just in case, unload 8189es with rmmod and then insert abovementioned driver with insmod. If everything goes well, I will make special lite image in a few days. If it doesn't work, please provide dmesg after driver insertion.

EDIT: I forgot to remove some code. I will fix it tomorrow.
EDIT2: I updated the link to newer driver. Please re-download if you already did.
EDIT3: You must change the opione.fex with changes mentioned in the 6# post

Hi Jernej you are going to have to explain how to execute the commands and copy over the new driver for me. Sorry this is something a little new for me. I have OpenELEC up and running and can SSH in via terminal but I cannot remove or install the new driver.

It's easy:
Just type in:
rmmod 8189es
And then go to the directory (using cd command) where your driver is located and type in:
insmod 8189fs.ko
