The latest build has I2C, One-Wire and SPI enabled and also the patch for reconfiguring pin configuration of  I2C HD44780 displays using PCF8574 backpacks.

So this Issue is no longer a issue and this Thread can be Closed

pls guide enable i2c lcd

Connect your i2c lcd to the i2c bus as below:

OPi  - I2C LCD---------------------
Pin 3 - SDA
Pin4 - VCC
Pin5 - SCK
Pin6 - GND

Now copy the attached LCD.conf file to /storage/.config/ folder.( Adjust the i2c pin assignments and BacklightInvert settings if needed) and reboot.

Please post the pictures of your LCD panel and connection setup to see if you are doing everything correctly.

Also did you test your I2c LCD panel using any other board like arduino or raspberry pi? If yes post the code.

Install i2c-tools addons and check if the display is detected.
You check in the console by typing i2cdetect -y 0 (or i2cdetect -y 1 if you connect to the second bus). The default display id is the 0x27.

I also checked 16x2 LCD with I2C board and works ok. However I don't like this display, because it is very slow and viewing angles are low. I'd prefer something better - do you have any suggestions what works with OpenELEC. I have a lot of different screens which I played with Arduino (Nokia's, OLED SSD1306, some sizes of TFTs, etc.) but I didn't notice any of them in LCD plugin description.
