Ubuntu Mate 16.04 Display resolution (OPiPC)

I want to use Orange Pi PC via X11VNC with resolution 1280x720 but I'm always getting 1920x1080. Somewhere on this forum I read that it is necessary to rename appropriate file from boot folder to (if I remember) script.bin. I did exactly that but OPiPC still shows 1920x1080.

can someone help with this? Thanks in advance.

- our build with 1260Mhz is faster than stock 1.6Mhz. It runs stable, stays cooler and consumes more. For even more details, check docs.armbian.com and forum.armbian.com ... 1.6 Ghz is "marketing speed" since people buy numbers. Worth reading.
- MALI is fully operational out of the box on all desktop builds, except on boards with 2GB RAM ... but it will also be solved one day. Furthermore MALI on our builds runs way much waster.

Simple answer - you are using wrong (unsupported) OS.

But of course this won't work on your Lubuntu. Later we added other resolutions. Again, they are n/a in Lubuntu.

In your boot partition try to create adn open (or, if present, to edit) the file called uEnv.txt , than add this:

bootargs=disp.screen0_output_mode=1280x720p60

Copy code

Note: if you just have the uEnv.txt and it has the "bootargs" string, add the code at its end (disp.screen0_output_mode=1280x720p60).
For me it works, hope for you too.

I am not sure if it works via kernel parameter ... on this our our kernel. Our method is to patch script.bin file.

Theoretically it must works...the uEnv file is to pass additional parameters to the kernel, so it is loaded after, and should overwrite some kernel param.
But as you said, nothing is sure with these boards

Well... I've tried suggestion with uEnv.txt. I didn't have that file inside of boot directory and I have been created a new one. Nothing new happened. It still works under HD resolution with rather slow data transmission.

http://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-pc (if you have Orange Pi PC)
After first login you will be prompted if you want to change default resolution ... all the way up to 4k. It's Debian Jessie based desktop with tons of patches - if you want Xenial based, wait for 1-2 weeks or DIY from sources.
