mmm, it is stated that 1GB even for a 32bits Windows 10 is limited, even in the article. I would say 2GB would be just "ok" for the 32bits version, but a 64bits Windows 10 would not for that amount, not at all. I have a testing desktop computer with 2GB of ram, a core 2 duo fast enough and Windows 10 runs sluggish. It throttles everytime I have 2 applications opened plus the browser. Windows 10 makes it harder to notice that it is running slow because it usually loads or animates things once it can show them, but I can know it is running slow, because the lag is considerable. I tried the same Windows 10 version with a laptop I have and it goes way smoother with 4GB of ram. The cpu is a core i3, but the 1st generation, and it is a laptop cpu so it is almost on par with my desktop one. Even the HDD is faster in my desktop computer but windows 10 isn't. Moreover, if you're using an Intel Atom Z8300 with Windows you should have 4GB or use it just for small tasks, not daily ones. Otherwise, you don't mind it to be slow.
As a counterpart, as I said a quad core A72 with 2GB of ram and correct drivers for Linux would make it a very nice computer for daily use, because Linux takes 1/3 of the ram Windows needs. And you have other benefits using Linux instead of Windows, but of course, if you're a Windows user and can't live without its wide compatibility and software for everything then nothing can be done.
