Technically we use the same (free software) package versions as Ubuntu. Do we need to change the description to match this fact? I doubt. Packages are free software with minor exceptions - we use a few non-free packages, but this is unrelated to the case anyway. Armbian is released under GPL and support is provided as is. While most of the Debian based distributions out there is mostly just a remix we actually create value - kernel and optimizations. It should be obvious already from your experience.

We don't provide free support or invest into development in userspace/application areas. We don't have wish nor the capacity - I already told you that. It is "do it" -> https://docs.armbian.com/Process_Contribute/ or pay for.

Or if you feel strongly enough rip out systemd so that snap won't work on Armbian.  Go your own way.

Linux is about the kernel. We could choose Arch, Redhat, Fedora, Alpine ... or whatever as a base. But we choose Debian. And add Ubuntu, which is technically the same but some people (like you) might be happy to have it. Application level, package versions are different and can save you some time. We save you a lot and you ask for more?

By the way, I am not sure who to thank for snapd compiling on Armbion Bionic.  Good job anyway you.

Can you use official builds? Ubuntu can only be thankful that their OS is working on SBCs while they are unable to jump from the mainstream. Debian folks, on the other hand, is at least supportive.

There is no armbian user group here. Since you don't get it I have to say it once again: we provide free help only for Armbian specific things. The rest search on Google or hire professional help.
