you can not copy more from banana.
it's over. ... Xunlong must write his own code, however, it does not seem able to do so

The H3 uses the very same Mali400MP2 GPU as the A20. So in fact you might be able to reuse already existing code for 3D hardware acceleration. And then you realize that there isn't that much because most of the stuff is closed source and only works within Android (which makes sense since mostly games use the 3D engine). And you will realize that LeMaker hasn't done any coding here (just refactored some other stuff).
The part most people are interested in (accelerated video playback) is another: CedarX (available in all Allwinner SoCs).

Again: This is Allwinner's work and the work done by the linux-sunxi community (either by coding or bei pushing Allwinner to free/liberate code). There's no hardware vendor like SinoVoip or LeMaker involved (they put together hardware to a board, put together some software pieces to an 'OS image' and do some marketing -- that's it. LeMaker being an exception due to porting the RPi.GPIO/WiringPi stuff to the A20 based Bananas). And how things evolve with CedarX we'll see: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux-sunxi/IHwrVxjJMUo

Hello everyone.

I recently purchased an Orange Pi 2 and I am looking for the best OS to install. I noticed that the hardware is not fully supported on every OS I downloaded from the orangepi website.
I am not even able to change the resolution on my screen. It is fixed to 1280x720.

Is there any OS that has support for the Orange Pi 2?

Thank you

@vinion - the only OS that has full support at the moment is Android - because a lot of TV boxes use the H3 chip, so @Loboris and others have hacked it to make it work with the OrangePi/2/+
Look in the Android section, hopefully in the not too distant future someone will come up with drivers for linux, but don't hold your breath.

On the plus side, Android does run very nice on this - and it makes a good media centre, having said that you could have bought an Android TV box, and would be in a better position - as it would support IR etc out of the box.
I'm looking at buying a Xidoo, or some other similar brand - as I can't get the ethernet working, and can't be doing with buffering when I have a 150Meg connection - the built in wifi seems to only support 2G...

Hello Everyone,

As i see, H3 boards already have 2D/3D hardware acceleration. So i decided to port it under A20 boards, but i need help from the ppl who create the steps for H3.

How I imagine this thing:
- I would like to use Lubuntu 14.04 which can be found here
- I will refresh the kernel on 3.4.109 version

Here comes the tricky part. I would like to ask zhao_steven to send me the already created gpu driver for A20.

And of course a bunch of thing...

Any help in my work welcome.
