How to mount a hard drive?

I have been using my orange pi pc to play videos over my home NAS and it has worked great! I bought a second orange pi pc for my girlfriends house who dosn't have internet so I gave her a usb hard drive to put videos on but when Openelec boots up it is not mounting. What do I need to do?

Has this external drive it's own power supply? Try with USB flash dongle.

I have 1 TB external usb hard drive, powered from usb and it works. Mounted automatically. I suspect too few power, make sure you are using good power supply for your Orange PI.

Thanks I'll try a different power supply.
