Hello,
So far I've only found one distro for OPi that runs wifi right out of the box, jacer's Debian build, but it's a little spotty.  From reading the info on Armbian it seems like wifi should work on at least a few different devices.  I tried the current Armbian releases of both Debian and Ubuntu on my OPi-PC with an Edimax EW-7811Un dongle (Realtek RTL8188CUS chipset), with all the different drivers available in the "Advanced settings" menu, but when I open the wifi menu it doesn't detect any networks.

I can't get online without wifi (no access to the router), so if I need to download something to make wifi work I'm sunk.  Is there some setting I need to change? Any other suggestions?  Any other distros that run wifi natively?  Otherwise I have a $15 paperweight.

Thanks!

Yeah, on Armbian the build-scripts place the 8192cu.ko kernel-module in the wrong place at the moment, I'll submit a patch for it in a moment. In the meanwhile you can move it from /usr/local/bin/8192cu.ko to /lib/modules/3.4.110-sun8i/kernel/net/wireless/ and run "depmod -a" followed by "modprobe 8192cu" to load the driver for your dongle. After that it should be loaded automatically whenever you plug the dongle in or if it's plugged-in during boot.

Will hopefully be fixed in future-builds of Armbian.
