Hello,
How are the ethernet and GPU drivers for Orange PI 2 Plus different from Orange PI 2. On OPI Plus2, I'm using latest  Debian and the ethernet driver does not work. What is the ethernet chip ? Video playback is jitterry. I'm not getting any answers to my other posts. Can only compile drivers if I am given hardware details. Looks like wasted $75.
Thanks
JG.

Video-playback being jittery might be because there's no VDPAU-driver installed or the app you're using doesn't support it.  And/or maybe there's no mali-driver and fb-turbo on it, so X runs using software framebuffer. (I haven't bothered trying Debian, so I don't know if the images come with those drivers or not) As for ethernet, I have no idea. Have you checked you're using the right script.bin?

I'm already using this firmware. What script bin should I use:

1. From inside the rar archive.
2. https://userscloud.com/q53bmjx6804r (Script.bin and uImage for OPI-2 OPI-2 mini)
3. https://userscloud.com/jb8ytwktdybu (Script.bin and uImage for OPI-PC)

Also, please advise when the new firmware would be available.
Thanks

1. From inside the rar archive.

Ok after experimenting a bit I was able to figure out the issue. May be this will help someone.

1. After you download the image that jacer posted here: https://userscloud.com/cxqh3m8ke23t (md5sum d6816b2ce9a067536aaaef80c82b33bd  Debian8_jacer_2.rar)
You should use the same uImage in the rar archive. The default script bin in the rar archive will give you 1280X768 resolution and everything else will work (including ethernet) . The OPI Plus2 has HDMI output so  In order to get full hdmi resolution you will need to use script.bin.OPI-PLUS_1080p60_hdmi_cpu1.2G_gpio30pin.

2. The ethernet works after the above changes but the speed is only 100M not 1G as advertized.
*-network:2
       description: Ethernet interface
       physical id: 8
       logical name: eth0
       serial: b6:bd:03:ac:46:98
       size: 100Mbit/s
       capacity: 1Gbit/s
       capabilities: ethernet physical tp mii 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation
       configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=sunxi_geth driverversion=SUNXI Gbgit driver V1.1 duplex=full ip=192.168.76.224 link=yes multicast=yes port=MII speed=100Mbit/s

3. Video playback in full 1080p resolution (from youtube) is still jittery not sure if this a HW or SW issue. These are the video drivers that are loaded:
mali_drm                6634  1
drm                   180399  2 mali_drm
mali                  213192  0
ump                    41069  3 mali

Waiting for jacer's new firmware update and will post an update after trying it out.

Hi jyotighosh,
I am trying to do what you described in your last post.
I downloaded Debian8_jacer_2.rar (thank you for posting the md5sum by the way!!!), but when I open it with package manager it looks like it's empy.
If I run:
  1. unrar -x Debian8_jacer_2.rar
Copy code

This is the output:
  1. orangepi@localhost:~/Downloads$ unrar -x Debian8_jacer_2.rar

  2. unrar 0.0.1  Copyright (C) 2004  Ben Asselstine, Jeroen Dekkers

  3. Extracting from /home/orangepi/Downloads/Debian8_jacer_2.rar

  4. Extracting  Debian8_jacer_2.img                                       Failed
  5. 1 Failed
  6. orangepi@localhost:~/Downloads$
Copy code

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Hello nicolettacau,
Just saw you post. In case you have not yet figured out how to unrar:
unrar e Debian8_jacer_2.rar
Hope that helps.
