EMMC Boot errors on Plus 2E after unit stored

I had several 2E's that were working perfectly a year ago.  They have been stored (normal conditions) since then, but when I just pulled them out to use again, several of them would not boot from the OS stored on the EMMC.  They can boot from an OS on an SD card, and I was able to re-flash the EMMC.  I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this issue, or has any suggestions on why this would happen.  The next question is if the units that did boot are going to have some other subtle corruption on the filesystem that is present, but not fatal.
