Hello,

I am just wondering if Openelec is in Development. Presently i have Raspbian on the orangepi but have been having issue trying to get any other os installed (including the standard Openelec).

Model OrangePi?
Which OpenELEC version do you have installed?
Although I have no OrangePi, but I'll try to help you as and to modify the OpenELEC.

Happy Eastern guys

Thanks Tyrannus.

I have picked up a Orange Pi Mini. I have currently tried Openelec 5.05 and 5.06.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Easter to you as well.

Jason.

Openelec ARM(raspberry) or I386 Vers?

The problem is, if you use the ARM version for Raspberry, the different GPU. I think at moment openelec(ARM) only support Broadcom GPU. Your OPi-Mini have an Mali GPU.

  1. Build         Description
  2. ION         Systems with an Intel Atom CPU and an NVIDIA graphics card
  3. Fusion         Systems with an AMD Exxx series CPU and AMD (ATI) HD graphics
  4. Intel         Systems with Intel Core series or Atom CPU and Intel GMA graphics
  5. Xtreamer         A specific build for on of our sponsors, the Xtreamer Ultra
  6. Apple TV         A build for Apple TV generation 1 devices
  7. Generic         A "catch-all" build for most systems (includes drivers for all of the above)
  8. Generic OSS         A "catch-all" build for most systems including older systems
  9. Raspberry Pi         An ARM build for the Raspberry Pi. This will not work with other ARM systems.

Is there a simple way to edit the code to add the additional GPU. I guess this would then work with the Banana Pi since it is using a mali gpu.

Thanks Tyrannus.

Simple way? Dont forget I have no an OPI here for testing source or other... My Orangepi-friends.eu site also still waiting for launch.

By the way Openelec is an OS and not a application. The simplest way is use XBMC.

But,
Its Eastern and I hope you have enough time for try and error procedure
You must installed the generic Openelec OS

First way: Do the manual install prozess http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Manual_Installation

Second way:
If you are firm with an multibootloader : http://wiki.openelec.tv/index.php/Dual_Boot

greetz to Down Under
