Hello, I bought the Orange Pi 5 with the purpose of turning it into a "game console" for my TV, both Android and retro games, because I saw that the OP5 has enough power for that and a very good performance. However, I've been trying to install Google Play on Android on the Orange Pi 5 for days (to activate Play Games and sync my games), but I can't. I've already tested 3 different images available (v1.0.2, Box v1.0.0 and Droid OS v0.0.5_beta). I tested the 3 SD Card images, I don't have an M2 drive to test.
I didn't like the v0.0.5_beta image very much, as it requires the use of a keyboard and mouse, and I only want to use a gamepad to play. I know that I can initially configure everything and leave only the shortcuts on the home screen, but I decided to test other images. And it didn't come with Google Apps, contrary to what is said on the official page.
The v1.0.2 image looks like a tablet and many functions require a mouse, which can be worked around with the Dualshock 4's touchpad, but I'd like to just use the dpad, like on Android TV. Even so, I tried to install the Play Store on that image through Magisk and I couldn't. I constantly get the message "Google Play Service Keeps Stopping" and I couldn't get the "Device ID" to certify my device because of this.
Finally I tried the Box 1.0.0 image, it was the one I liked the most, I managed to do things with the Dualshock 4 (despite the File Explorer not being prepared for use with a gamepad). But when selecting the "MagiskGApps" file for Magisk to install, it suddenly closes. I tried with 3 different zips and all 3 times Magisk closed suddenly.
In the end I was not able to install the Play Store to download the games and sync with Play Games. Does anyone know how to resolve? Has anyone tried to install and succeeded? Thanks!
