Hello, I have an Orange Pi 3b that worked fine for about a month and a half. Then suddenly it stopped working. I'm using the official image of Debian Bookworm image with 5.10.160-rockchip-rk356x kernel.

The ethernet has phisical connection and shown as up and running, but can't get a DHCP address and won't work with static IP.

  1. user@orangepi3b:~ $ sudo ethtool end1
  2. Settings for end1:
  3.         Supported ports: [ TP         MII ]
  4.         Supported link modes:   10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full

I tried fresh original Debian image with 5.10.160 kernel, DietPi image for Orange PI 3B with 6.x.x kernel - same behavior.

There are no problems with a router, because the USB to Ethernet adapter connected to the Orange Pi 3b works fine.

Could it be a hardware problem?

Some logs here:
  1. user@orangepi3b:~ $ sudo nmcli connection up Ethernet
  2. Error: Connection activation failed: IP configuration could not be reserved (no available address, timeout, etc.)
  3. Hint: use 'journalctl -xe NM_CONNECTION=8053f1f9-f648-428b-98ac-10910266b7a1 + NM_DEVICE=end1' to get more details.

Hi. My network is also not working on the orange pi 3b. This problem is massive. Apparently a marriage.

Someone contacted the dev through Twitter and relayed the fix through Discord! HUGE props to LegendYang!

run as root

do not reboot, or you must re-do commands

It worked for me. The network is working. The address is received.
