Both VLC and MPV player locks up on Orangepi 5b Debian 11

I was able to install the Debain 11 image downloaded from the OrangePi download page on an Orangepi 5B. Everything seems to work OK except I could not play any video files on either the MPV or VLC media players. I have tried different video formats but no luck. The same video file would play OK from VLC player installed on a Window machine, I have matched all the settings on the VLC players between the Debian and Window machines but VLC on Orangepi 5B just locks up.

Has anyone got VLC or MPV playing videos on Orangepi 5B  with Debian 11?
