Hello,
I would like to use my Orange Pi 5B as a part of my new car infotainment system, which obviously should include a GPS navigation. I have an external GPS receiver connected via USB and I can see the data stream in application monitoring serial port. Unfortunatelly I haven't found a way, how to feed this stream to Android, so it can use it the same way as internal GPS. I've tried two GPS mockup aplications, but they both suck, because they don't relay all the informations from the receiver and certain map apps don't work without GPS fix for example. Not saying they complain loudly once the GPS data stream stops comming for no reason (it happens from time to time, don't know why). Also they need to be turned on every single time after start up.
So I don't want to continue with this route, but I would like to find a way, how to tell Android, where to look for the GPS data stream. Even if it mean baking my own Android. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one having this problem, since none of the SBCs have onboard GPS receivers and there are dozens of car infotainment builds using SBCs all over the internet. Yet, I can't find answer anywhere.
Thanks.
