Orange Pi Zero 2 - serial ports with Debian

I am trying to access the serial ports (ttyS5 I believe) with Python using Debain (the only image I could get to start).


I have installed pySerial and I can see the ports with "gpio readall" but they have Mode OFF.  "python3 -m serial.tools.list_ports" returns "no ports

I am sure it is simple - how do I turn these ports on?

'python3 -m serial.tools.list_ports ' show me no port also, but 'ls /dev' show ttyS*
