Hi, I am struggling with the same issues for day now, but to be honest I do not think there is a solution for this. It seems, that there is only a plenty of supported resolutions for HDMI. See for yourself

I am trying to get a 1280x1024 resolution now - output mode 27 - and will report. I tried to set the output to VGA, although using HDMI, as this was reported working with Banana Pi. Gut i had no luck so far, Anroid falls back to 720 16:9 resolution causing stretched display/icons.

I will definitely try HDMI - VGA adapter and report my results. I will also try Linux and setting similar parameters (VGA, 16 : 10 resolution). But I almost give up hope that it will be possible to output custom resolutions (1280x800, 1440x900) under Android/Linux, as long someone adjust the underlying code.

Btw. you can always check the physical resolution of the creen by running
  1. wm size
Copy code

in Andoid in terminal or over adb shell. You can adjust the screen size using
  1. wm size 1280x800
Copy code

but this does not fix the false aspect ration in my case.

I am struggling with displaying a One Plus on a Dell E173FP.
Using Vysor, I managed to set the HDMI output mode to 1080P_60Hz, and that works... until the next reboot.
What shoud I do to make it persistent? An adb command of some sort?
Thanks.
