Hi!
I'm testing the new orange pi 2G-IOT and its OS like a Debian Server, Ubuntu Server, Raspbian and Armbian and I'm having many problems: nmtui to wifi setup is broken, boot to emergency mode for no apparent reason, not possible run correctly the gpio library (gpio-sunxi not found and wiringOP returns bus error), wifi stability hateful...

Is it my impression or orangepi operating systems are in beta?
Anyone are having the same problems?

Thanks

Only issue I have had was getting the modem to connect to straight talk, i have not messed with the GPIO's, and boot has worked flawlessly since i moved the jumper to boot to sd card.

What OS have you used?
Your wifi connection is stable?

Could you check if the gpio works? I installed the wiringop

Thanks

Your wifi connection is stable? I do seem to get alot ssh sessions timing out, not sure what that is about, but will look into it a little more

You could try to use Ubuntu Server first, enter into system,  there will promt input OrangePi_Setting to connect wifi. Yes, first would not suggest using other image to try, after mofidy it, reboot the board and the system could connect to wifi, of could modify /etc/network/interfaces directory.
For the problem of gpio, Xunlong still on the testing stage, for now wiringpi could not use on 2G-IOT, and we haven't make relevant transplant, and function of GSM also on the transplant stage.
If for testing, we would suggest using Android, all functions should work normally.
Hope i could make you understand me.

Hi,
Then it seems that the problems I'm having when testing the device are normal. I have a lot ssh sessions timeout. And even the wlan0 interface has disappeared. For me, a wiringop library is essential. I do not know if it's easy to work with gpio on android, but I need a linux distribution for my diy projects.
However I have to say that although I had to run the gsm, I think it is the most stable of all.

I understand that the level of development of the device is early, but I missed a wiki or something similar to know the state of development, for example, know if it is possible to load a different os (non android) in the emmc.
Anyway, thanks for your work.

Hi all,

I have problems with wlan interface on my orangePI 2G, not appears any wlan interface. I test this on Ubuntu and Raspbian server editions downloads from OrangePi site.

/etc/network/interfaces shows wlan0 configuration, but ifconfig -a does not show any wlan interface

Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks!

Hi,
I have them too. And I have given up.
I think the problem with the wifi may be hardware failure. I don't understand why wlan0 interface disappear suddenly, because my first SO installation have a wlan interface working (unstable, but working).
I've testing with other SO downloaded directly from orange pi official web and I can't resurrect the wlan.

Now I'm fighting with orange pi pc+ and spi display. Certainly orangepi's gpio are not compatible with raspberrypi like I thought

If it's in progress, when can we expect GPIO / wiringPi support on linux? I have a few of these, and they're useless for my project at this point with no GPIO support. This was not at all advertised pre-purchase.
