I noticed a couple of things with networking. Ok that is annoying my post was mostly deleted. We'll try this again.

ifconfig shows eth0 as wlan
if you run ifconfig eth0 up there isn't an error
wlan0 is shown as wlan1
All of the networking interfaces seem to work though
I went to add a wireless connection in the network manager and I get a dialog that says unlock login keyring and prompts for a password. I thought it would be something like orangepi or toor but it's not. what's the default keyring password?
Also I noticed there are some wifi credentials left on the machine. It might not be a bad idea to run bleachbit before cloning the image to avoid leaving treasures.

Also I was curious as to what modes onboard wireless of Orange Pi Plus will support. I have a nice 6 mode dongle anyhow if it doesn't do what I want. I'm probably going to use it for something simple like a rogue access point or a monitor device.
