Hi,

When I booted up my OPI PLUS 2E for the first time, it booted right away in to an Android 4.4.2 version. I managed to set the language in English, read and address some notices on the screen.
One of the messages was to upgrade, what I did. After that it rebooted and I was shown a totally different Android layout. It shows the Play store Icon, Hulu, YouTube etc. but nothing works.
I can only access a type of filemanager.

So how do i prevent this Android from booting and make it boot to the sdcard? (Do I use an Armbian image on the card?)
If you need to boot / set the card in a specific mode in order to boot from the sd, will auto install Armbian and wipe the pre-installed Android?

Whith the Phoenix card software I tried to access the OPI with the OTG USB but it does not see the OPI.
The other USB ports & HDMI work fine, mouse keyboard no problem

I'm a bit confused at what to do at this point, I didn't expect it would come with an pre-installed Android.
Basicly I want to put the best supported OS on it, what is Armbian right?

Thanks

Martend

So, no more confusing

Armbian is for me the way to go, I tried various OS's for the OPI+2E. Current Android version = to old. Raspbian is not compatible enough. Various drivers are complaining about that the used kernel is not a Raspbian kernel. Wifi was not working also. Ubuntu desktop was no joy either, first of all the download presented on orangepi.org was not working, found an mirror of it on a French website. Again some compatible issues. Next on was Armbian (Xenial), worked out of the box, incl. WiFi also easy install on the emmc. The Armbian website was helpfull in this.
