Greetings. I finally got my orange pi plus .I tried your firmware. It does not install many applications.Writes an installation error. And the problem with sleep.I even bought an IR remote for her . But it turned out to be useless because this remote control cannot turn on orange pi by an IR signal .

@mo123 mo123

Are you already working on improvements in a new version? Could you say something about it?

If I weren't an Orange Pi user (mo123) we wouldn't have an Android TV. The company's support for this is zero.

We appreciate mo123!

Anyone who is researching which one to buy, buy a friendlyelec.

One question, is this version normal Android modified to look like Android TV or is it really Androi ...

Taking another look at your screenshots I don't think any of those are Android Tv apps. Pretty much anything you find in the "App Drawer" are gonna be mobile apps it's the whole reason for the  App Drawer. It's definitly real Android TV and the Playstore wont let you download anything that wont work. Sounds likes like maybe your flash is bad. If you are running it from an SD card any image by anyone is gonna run like shit. Buy atleast the EMMC Card but you can get a 256gb NVME Drive for like 13 bucks.

Make sure you flashed pi5P and not pi5 or pi5B. Use a EMMC or NVME Drive if you can afford 140 bucks for a pi plus you can do better than an SD Card.

It would be useful to hear from the OP to see what further developments there may be.

With the announcement from Rockchip of a 6.1 kernel SDK before the end of the year, we should see more development for the RK3588.

OrangePi 5B with built-in Broadcom bluetooth can sleep/wake up correctly with a bluetooth remote.
OrangePi 5 / Plus with RTL8852BE module can't sleep/resume with bluetooth.

This one will work but not with bt sleep.

Avoid this module as it will cause lots of problems

For IR, only OrangePi official remote will work

Not currently because support is non existant from the company.

I first work on devices with actual support and later on devices with no support.

I would recommend NanoPi6, Station M3, Edge3, Rock5B and lastly OrangePi 5B for now if planning to use Android.
For Linux it doesn't make such a difference as there is OpenFyde, Armbian, Ubuntu, Batocera to use.

The 6.1 kernel is for Linux but for Android it is of no use for now.
Other manufacturers already released Android 13, so it will be interesting what the future will hold.

i would like to thank you for your great job it is the best firmware ever for OP5 especially with NVME storage
its too fast and smooth.

everything is ok and good except HDMI Bitstream with True-HD and DTS-HD

I tried that on my home theater and i did enable passthrough on kodi but the audio is lag and cut when i play movies
