Hi,

I've installed Android image (from the official ressource page) on Orange Pi PC and it works great. I am using 8 GB SD card and noticed Android reports 5.00 GB of internal memory. Do I need to expand the file system so Android can access all 8 GB and how it can be done?

It is already expanded. 3GB of 8GB (actually 7.5GB) is used by the OS.

I've cloned a few 8 GB Android SD cards with Win32DiskImager and it works, now I'd like to clone 8 GB card to 16 GB - then I'll probably have to expand the file system. Linux partition can be expanded as described here, but I am not sure how the same could be done with Android. Do you have any idea how that could be done?

Just try to resize it using fs_resize script approach. Base of Android is Linux so it should work. In case of problems you can boot Linux and insert SD with Android in usb reader and resize it under Linux.

You mean by using this script? I don't have 16 GB SD card at the moment to do the test but I'll try as soon as I get card.

Yes, this script. But Android has a lof of partitions so I don't know if it work without preparing new image file. Also don't  know if there are all Linux tools available in Android shell. Maybe you can try to find any partitions tools for Android natively. I think manually it will be rather tough job.

As I understand the image (during the first run) expands the partition so it takes all available space on SD card. That means the expanding mechanism is already built-in in the image so there should be some way to retrigger the process of partition expanding even after moving the image to a bigger card.

hello, will hardly make a partition on android.
the system itself organizes the memory and files on it, eg when you Monata the image on sd 16gb using PhoenixCard the end you will have 12gb free to install apps.

but if you want more than one system on the same SD, in this case I do not know how, but I've seen some tablets with dual boot on android.

I want only one system but don't want to install everything from scratch so I am looking for a solution to expand the file system after cloning the SD card with Win32DiskImager. I can clone 8 GB to 8 GB card with Win32DiskImager but I'd like to know how to do the same with 8 GB to 16 GB SD card.
