guys, not sure what are you doing, since opipcplus has 8gb emmc, but you insist on burning the android image to sdcard instead of emmc your problem with size of user partition can be solved
1) write android image to yor sd card
2) use lsblk to check the block size of your sd card
3) check the partitioning of your sdcard by running fdisk -l /your/device and find the last and biggest partition, should be partition #5 if i recall this correctly
4) using sfdisk -N yourpartitionnumber ,  change the last block of last partition (do not forget to deduct partition starting block form the block size of your sd card)
5) format last partition to fat32
you are done

Is it possible to make 1366x768 resolution work with this image via HDMI or VGA?

I've tried this image on Plus 2e. It works fine, except LAN (which is understandable, it has different adapter).

Hey I have made an android rom too. I have not tried this one because it looks like it installs on internal storage which i do not want. My rom only works off a SD card.

great, thanks for sharing! is it kitkat? what about google services? Are those up to date?
I prefer OS on emmc because it is more reliable and faster than sd card... but anyway, it is not a big deal to burn it to emmc using armbian.

Its kind of working, WiFi works, ethernet does not work, and USB don't work.
Not smart to overwrite the default and I did not.
Get the image from within the image and write that one on SD  (a whole lot smarter)
Not sure whats better.. a fully working android (the default that comes with the OPi) without google, or this half working with google...

PS I have a OPi plus 2

@Chriswr1) it is clearly stated that this image is for OPI PC PLUS. you are installing it on wrong device
2) eMMC is more reliable and faster than SD card

take care
