Dear mo123, tell me that you've been not responding all this time because you're working on a super Android TV, with no bugs and everything working perfectly? hahahaha

On 4pda there is a new version for 5+ EMMC. Some major problems are fixed there. The link to the image is on page 208. No password required.
If you have any question to ask there use translate.google.com It perfectly translates from English to Russian.

The new version by Rick:
- Can be installed to EMMC: RKDevTool -> Upgrade Firmware (prior make sure SPI is clear);
- Can be installed to SD via SD disk tool 1.7.2 (SDdisktool 1.7.2 / Boot tool 2.12);
- Video output only works on HDMI_TX1 HDMI port (the middle one);
- HDMI BitStream should be enabled in the system settings to make HDMI audio output work (Only available in Google Launcher);
- Google play has to be cleaned and set to TV mode to work;
- HEVC still doesn't work in HW (only SW supported);
- HdmiIn still crashes the system;
- Any compatible app can be installed (fixed);
- Magisk (used for root) is cranky, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Restart the system several times till it works and update it;
- SVPlayer runs at 1080p 60fps in HW mode, doesn't pull it on most videos in SW mode unfortunately. But the authors are preparing a new version of the player for Android TV which will be a bit faster. 48fps interpolation still can be used here. Better than nothing;
- TorrServe (torrent video streamer) works, but not stable in the settings menu;
- Maximum resolution in the system settings is 1920x1080 (no way to set it to 2k or 4k).

On 4pda there is a new version for 5+ ...

Thanks for the tip. I couldn't translate using Firefox, I had to install Chromium.

My first question, how do I make a backup of my current android mo123 already configured, in case I need to return to it?

I found and downloaded the image on page 208, but I didn't find the original post, is it from another forum/site? I saw people saying it's for the Orange pi 5 plus, would it be just for this hardware? Mine is 5B...

Have you already installed it? What do you think?

Wow!

On 4pda there is a new version for 5+ ...

Thanks for the update Dmitry87, I found it, and I see it's rooted... However, do you know what type of format the ISO is for: NVMe or SD?

All my thoughts are in 216#
This version is for 5+ only. Rick was asked to make versions for the other boards, but yet no answer.
You can ask LoveKillers for the contacts.

Here is the description of the rom. HEVC should work, but for me it doesn't:
- Better launchers for Homescreen
Android TV (no login required, adjustable)
Google TV (login required, not adjustable)

- MAJOR increase in CPU and GFX performance
2/3x CPU speed compared to stock ROM
1.5x OpenGL speed increase

- Smooth playback 4k 60/120Fps YT video's

- All video playback using HW acceleration
for videofiles and IPTV streams

- RK3588 OpenGL/Vulkan Driver can reach
30fps in demanding Android games

- Future updates can be done using Magisk
No need to re-flash and loose data

Updating the Rockchip HW video decoders did wonders for AV1 and HEVC videofiles playback.

However, it broke VP9 60fps playback of Youtube videos. This can't be fixed.....yet

You can use a workaround (not ideal) for seamless playback in SmartTube:
Goto Settings-> Player->Video Presets-> set to 2K 60fps VP9+HDR. This of course, limits playback to 2K for all YT streams. But, it seems just as sharp as 4K to me.

You can also use the 4K 2160p 60fps AV01+HDR. This doesn't work for all streams but most VP9 encoded streams will use the AV01 decoder

Note: Ordinary video files encoded with VP9 @60fps will play just fine

First SVPlayer version for Android TV has been released. Available on 4pda.

Friends! Is it worth bothering with the Orange pi 5b as using android tv or give up and buy a raspberry? Android tv in Orange pi 5b does not work properly, there is always something wrong! The manufacturer does not care about the users. I bought opi5b to use android tv I'm disappointed!
