Current Openelec github alread got the patch in place for backporting Kernel Fw loading and it is working perfectly. Including that in loboris kernel git will allow enabling latest versions of systemd without worrying about driver support.

Loboris: Do you mind adding this to your kernel git repo and updating the kernel packages so that wifi and other firmware dependent drivers function properly in newer distros.
