Can/Bottle Labels Question

Is anybody printing their own in-house labels for cans or 500ml bottles? Or do you just source everything out? We are a pretty small operation but want to be able to customize labels for cool one-off batches, and also larger packaging runs. We have an in-house graphics designer, but ordering out for labels doesn't make sense cost-wise unless we are doing a bunch of rolls of the same brand.

If you do, what model printer do you use?
