Hello,

I can not get TV signal (PAL) working on my OrangePi PC. I'm using OrangePI_Lubuntu_Vivid image and the script.bin and uImage from newest scriptbin_kernel.tar, as was suggested I modified script.bin to match PAL configuration and use the red RCA as video signal but nothing happens except when I turn on the OPI on the no signal message of my TV goes away, but screen remains black. Any ideas?

[EDIT] I just get a HDMI cable and HDMI TV and OPI PC is working fine, may be the AV video is damaged?

Hello, The problem is most likely the cable you are using. (it was in my case with 2 differnt cables, both wrong) There are many different types of cable out there and you can get lucky if you:

plug the RED RCA into the Yellow port of the TV.
OR
Put the YELLOW on YELLOW but pull the 3.5 jack one step out from the orangepi.

if none of this works you can test where your ground is with a multimeter:

[SOLUTION] Orange Pi PLUS > TRRS connector. After testing with multimeter.
T (Left audio)
R (right audio)
R (video)
S (Ground)

So the ground is on the sleave of the connector, ring2 is video, ring1 is right audio, tip is left audio

THIS post explains it better: http://www.orangepi.org/orangepi ... &highlight=TRRS

Hi! I have same problem as xilinx have - no video via TV out.
Black screen and all. Yes, tv signal goes through red connector, but it's too strange.
I looked it by digital oscilloscope. It would seem normal PAL signal - timing, syncro, but brightness level is beyond a dark. Cut off level, which will not appear on TV. I am a radioengineer and newbee in linux, sorry.
Is it hardware failure or I should choose another script.bin?

Hi.
My orange Pi plus has a reasonable composite output. Colours are OK without tweaking any settings.
Try getting your TV and Orange Pi on the same ground.
Use a cable to connect the OPI (screw hole) to the ground plug of your TV.

if still not OK use a very good composite cable (example > monster cable) The problem is they cost more than the OPI itself...
OR if you have a component cable laying around (red green blue connectors) they are usually better quality and work with composite.
If you really want to keep it cheap try cutting and soldering your cable as short as possible..

Thanks for answer. Electric connecions are Ok and problems are not in cable. I compared TV signal from my satellite receiver with OPI PC. Same steps of sincro in timing and voltage, same bursts of color syncro and then a straight (almost) line. Look at the picture and compare with standard composite PAL.

[EDIT]
Its OK now. I forget to load module tv.
