Thanks for the hint t3l3m4k0, I also thought it was probably caused by insufficient power. I ordered an original Orange Pi power supply via AliExpress now, it would have been nice to include it with the shipped test units though, especially because the Orange Pi seems not to be accepting PSU which work perfectly on other boards and provide far higher amperages than officially needed to run the Orange Pi.
Using a 200W or more PSU from a PC is no option for me. If this should really be needed, there is something seriously wrong with the power consumption of the Orange Pi.

Ok, got it working now... A generic stabilized PSU with 2.8A got it up and running. Cool, finally I can start to play around...

I have orange pi v1.1 and v1.2. Lubuntu does not run on Orange Pi v1.2. Try banana OS or debian )))

That's not true. As stated in my last post, problems were caused by the power supply. With a stronger power supply, Lubuntu is running fine on v1.2.
