Thanks for replay.

But, Orange pi and orange pi plus is a completely different system.
I tested the 3.5 HDD connected in Banana pi is very good.
Banana pi and Orange pi is almost same system.

Did you test the 3.5 HDD connected in orange pi plus ?

I had connected 3.5 HDD in Orange Pi Plus (OPP).
Sata cable to HDD and OPP.
Power from external Power supply (old ATX 400W power supply), now i had received 12V/5V power supply "for surveillance cam" with no fan  model T-40 12 5 (such  igorpec).

Hi,

You wrote that sata cable that you bought from aliexpress does not work with orange. http://www.aliexpress.com/item/F ... 01556_2_79_78_77_80,searchweb201644_5,searchweb201560_1

Is that so that only 3.5" HDD is not working and cable linked above should work OK with 2.5" HDD's?

And should this cable work with 2.5" 5 volt HDD's (or SSD's) when connected to Orange Pi Plus?

For 3.5" HDD you need 12V too. And the cable you linked to should work with a 2.5" disk. You just have to take care that you don't use cables advertised for LinkSprite (pcDuino) or CubieTech (Cubieboards/Cubietruck) since they share the same connectors but the polarity of the SATA-power connector is inverted there. Banana Pi/M1/M1+/Pro/M3 are compatible to Orange Pi +.

SATA works, just install NTFS-3g for read and write. Open Synaptic Package Manager and press CTRL+F, search for ntfs-3g and gparted.
