Why enough space on SD after Image written?

Hi everyone!

I don't know how could avoid to shrink my SD card with orange pi image at maximum, I want to have some space on SD card to do something, but when I use "Win32diskimager" it shrinks from 32gb to 50mb, BUT I DON'T UNDERSTAND, please could someone help me?

yes, that problem i have also..
no space at linux partition
and cant resize to max size at windows app ..
i try with disk image partition from acronis.. but no luck

first what you must enable eth or wifi conection
then install gparted app .. fancy gui he has.. so is not hard to resize partition .. to make larger
and then you can update, download other stuff like firefox, chromium

but .. today i study PRIME model .. 10 hours .. debian is working, ubutu is also working.. i get kodi on it.. freezes movie, no sound..

. what to say more..
and what i read on other forums.. i have spend 42$ for nothing.. rpi3 is so so so better sollution

I don't understand why you didn't put your sd card into device, first and then ask such question? Then you measure your space on sd card under working Linux system, for example. In your Windows you can easilly open Disk Manager (right click on My Computer -> Manage) and you will see that this 50Mb are only bootable fat32 partition, the rest is unrecognised by Windows, Linux format and you will have unpartitioned space, where your Linux partition will resize usually, at first boot.

what size of card?
i use 16GB
partition for ubuntu is 4gb .. but free space is 300 MB cca.
port gparted enough

im using 32GB sd card samsung, but just can use 50mb from /boot, i dont know why im not using the rest of the space... i dont know why, just did tutorial of "new image for orange pi pc 2", thanks

If you don't have enough memory on your partition but have it to spare on your SD card, you may be able to expand the partition to the full size of the card, install gparted to later manage your partition sizes.
For Armbian images, use

sudo systemctl start armbian-resize-filesystem

sudo systemctl start orangepi-resize-filesystem
