It is probably due to the having to pay an additional Google Play Services fee for it, which you have for each hardware device you add it to, even it if was licensed for Android 12.|
I was able to install it on an NVME, but no WiFi, BT, Ethernet. You might be able to use a USB WiFi dongle, but only if the drivers were installed int he ROM, which probably was not the case since the OPi5 Max has it onboard. Sadly, I can't see why they decided on WiFi 5 and BT 5 when the M.2 card sold by them for the Plus is WiFi 6 and BT 5.2.
