Have just received my plus 2, but don't seem to be able to get it to boot. Have tried both with & without sd card, using a 3A usb charger and the jack adapter cable supplied with the board. Results are:
* no sd: red led comes on for a few seconds, then green briefly, then back to red. After returning to red, ethernet activity lights start flashing and usb keyboard is able to toggle num lock light, but there is no display on hdmi output (i guess the default mmc image is configured to work with an lcd display?). But other than lack of display, the os seems to have booted (i think - if someone can confirm the meaning of the led changes that might be handy).
* booting from sd - I prepared the image by downloading the armbian opi plus debian jessie image, unzipping on a linux desktop pc, and writing to an sd card using "dd if=image of=/dev/sde". I then checked that this had produced an appropriate partition table (it created a 1.2GB p partition, leaving the rest of the card empty, so I expanded the partition and ran resize2fs on the filesystem). Placing the card in the slot and turning the power on resulted in a red led for about 30 seconds, which then started flashing. Repeating with the same card, no leds came on at all. Removing the card or repeating with a card that doesn't have a boot image simply resulted in the same behaviour as above.
Any ideas what I can do to get this booting? |
